Home of Our FamilyQinglong Canyon locates in the north of Huairou district, 20 kilometers away from Huairou City. As a national 4A level scenic spot, it features green mountains, crystal water and ancient Great Wall. We gathered outside the company at 8:00 on the morning of May 7th and set off at 8:30. On the way to Qinglong Canyon, we had a great time of chatting, which enhanced our friendship. Two hours later, we arrived at the long-awaited Qinglong Canyon.
 · As we entered, the words of “Qinglong Bridge” on a stone tablet leapt into our eyes. We hustled to take pictures for fear of missing any beautiful scenery. Qinglong Canyon consisted of four parts. The water in the south part was about one meter deep, so bamboo rafted and rowing boats were mainly used here. Passing the south part, we saw the dam which links the east and the west parts and splits the south and the north. It was the first concrete arch dam built in 1960s. There were two imposing molded dragons on the dam and the red words “Qinglong Canyon” were written on the exterior side of the dam. Before climbing the dam, we first had a dinner. Most dishes were made of edible wild dam. Although we all itched to reach the dam crest to enjoy the wonderful sight, our stomachs kept rumbling. So we went to have lunch first. There were many vegetables which we had never seen in metro. Although it was not a feast of abundant fish and meat, we enjoyed it very much. When finishing the dinner, we could not wait to go to the dam crest on which we had apanoramicview of small bridge, green water, houses and rainbow. We could also rent ancient costumes from the petty dealers and took photos there, experiencing the feeling of travelling across time to the Tang Dynasty. It was a great pity that we did not do so because time was limited. Then we came to the north part of Qinglong Canyon. The water here was wide and deep, so dragon boat, barge and speed boat were provided here. It took about six minutes to have a whole look of the waters by speed boat and twenty minutes by dragon boat or barge. There were all kinds of recreation items such as bungee, swing on water, prompt drop and rock climbing, among which the bungee was the most adventurous and attractive one. The extreme sense of excitement tempted us to have a try.
 The Qinglong Canyon ropeway was 800meters in length and 369 meters in drop height. We took the ropeway to the peak of the canyon—Heaven Emperor’s Stage. While standing there, one can saw the spacious water in Miyun Reservoir in the east, continuous fields of Jingbei Plain in the south, ancient Huairou City bathed in the shine of sunset in the west and successive mountains and the imposing Great Wall in the north.
 We took the cable car to the top of the mountain. When looking down from the mountain top, we were shocked by the magnificent charm of the natural scenery: ups and downs of valley, ripples of crystal water and cheerful birds flying hither and thither.
We lingered until 4:30p.m and left with great satisfaction.
