Home of Our FamilyIn October, Beijing was pleasantly warmed blown with autumn breeze and having little clouds in the high sky. The flavor of autumn could be felt everywhere. Our Novots Group arrived at the beautiful Shuanglong Mountain Forest Park and started our one-day outdoor expansion activity.
At 8:30 on Oct. 16, people gradually assembled together and the bus drove us to our destination which we had anticipated for a long time. All of us were guessing what would be like of the mysterious and legendary Shuanglong Mountain all the way. On our way to the Mountain, the guide led us to play a variety of games such as Number Riddle, Idiom Solitaire, etc. Some of us guessed a wrong number and some followed a mistaken idiom, which produced a great deal of laughter among us and more importantly healed divides between us and brought us one step closer.
Unconsciously, we were approaching the Shuanglong Mountain so near. Just at the moment, somebody shouted “Look! The Mountain is just there in front of us!” We looked in that direction and found that the mountains in front were standing rang upon range in a continuous sequence, which can be described with the ancient Chinese poem that “isles emerge from the pool shined with setting sun; mountains overlap under clouds rising to the sky.”We realized it was just the beautiful Shuanglong Mountain there which truly showed itself right before us.
We next initiated our ice-breaking activity in the morning to get our tour started guided by our coach, Mr. Sun, a handsome and gentle man. He first divided us into groups for the activity held in the afternoon and introduced principles and arrangements of the activity. After that, in order to eliminate our fear from strangeness, Mr. Sun led us to do series of activities which could strengthen cohesion of groups. As the activities progressed, people became familiar with each other and the three groups of us competed with each other based on cooperation within each group. Finally, the loser in the competition was punished in the way of providing massage service for the winner. In a word, it’s a great treat for us to be massaged by the loser!
For the sake of the activity held in the afternoon, our three groups also designed slogans, group pennants and songs for each group. Now, it was show time! “Dare-to-die Group”, “Flying Dragon Group”, and “Super Illusion Group” even the next dances and slogans, all can be said as shocking as possible!
Competition and confrontment between groups just started from that moment. You really had to admire the intelligence, the sagacity and the youthful passion they had. It seemed youth is just a fortune itself.
After having enough food and drinks, we formally kicked off our top program of the day-“search for national treasures”.
In the afternoon, the coach firstly described principles and notes of the game. Even so, we were still unclear about the game. Never mind, every group was going to have several smart persons, wasn’t it? Next, the groups were divided further into small groups with 4 members in it which should act independently. During the process, we were supposed to contact with other groups’ members to exchange tokens and treasures. As soon as the coach ordered “Go” loudly, we started our treasure hunt activity immediately just like flowers scattering instantly.
In order to prevent us from taking wrong line and losing the way, the coach set prompts in each treasure-hunt spot and provided guidance for us there. Such a carful coach! In the following, each group were busying searching for contact spots, check secret passwords and hide treasures happily. Our movement almost stimulated tourists’ interest to join us, which proved that our activity was so attractive. In the activity, some groups performed fluently while some lost their directions. The latter always made contacts of other groups wait till late, hopeless and helpless. With the assembling time approaching, all of us came back to the assembling place. Since we weren’t familiar with the activity, we didn’t carry out the activity completely and we felt upset and depressed about that. In view of this, the coach analyzed the reason, found out our problems and made a conclusion for us. In addition, he also encouraged us by saying that games took effect not lying in how much we completed but the unity and cohesion we gained after the one-day outdoor expansion activity, which was just of greatest importance to a team. After hearing the enlightening words said by the coach, we got our original spirit of optimism again.
Departure time always meant melancholy and depression when we had to say good bye to our dear coach and the beautiful Shuanglong Mountain. We all felt reluctant to part with each other. However, seen from another angle, departures also symbolized the next reunion and let’s treasure up the sweet memory of today in our heart. After taking the group photo, we stepped on our way back. With night falling and the Shuanglong Mountain fading behind, my dear friend, I expect our tomorrow to be another wonderful day!
